Let's Get Cooking

Last night I did something fun and new: a few friends and I took a pasta-making 101 class. There were about 15 people in the class and we learned to make fettuccine with marinara sauce, spinach ravioli, and butternut squash ravioli. The class split into three groups and each group learned how to mix the ingredients, knead the dough, and roll out the dough using the Kitchenaid attachment. My group was in charge of the fettuccine and marinara sauce, so we also learned to cut the pasta into fettuccine using another Kitchenaid attachment and got to prepare the sauce.
The pasta got loooooooooonnnnngggg.
It was really good, though, even the bits on the ends of a few pieces that were a little thick. The sauce was also delicious. Our partners at our table seasoned it and did a really nice job -- it had quite a kick!
The other groups made the ravioli, which was also delicious. Lots of filling. All in all, I had a great night and it was well worth the price.
I have to admit, though, I'm probably sticking to Raffetto's for my fresh pasta. It's so much easier and at least as good.
