Life After Newspaper Journalism?

Hi Everyone:

Yes, that is what I'm attempting to find after being a newspaper reporter for more than 22 years. But with the newspaper industry imploding, one has to do what one has to do!

My specialty for the past 11 years has been food and wine writing. I grew up in San Francisco, so what can I say _ a love for good food and drink is in my blood. About a month ago, I started my own food blog, which is the first blog I've ever had to call my own. It's called Food Gal, and you can find it easily at www.foodgal.com It's been so much fun to build it. I've learned a ton already, and still need to learn a whole lot more _ especially when it comes to generating advertising, and the tax issues that may entail. Oh my!

You guys who have been blogging far longer are my inspiration. So thanks for leading the way.
