I plan to lead a healthier lifetype in 2012 -- lose weight, of course. And eat better, exercise more, and I also plan to join Weight Watchers to get a little extra incentive. I also plan to spend more quality time with my kids. I need to prioritize my time better!

Decorating gingerbread houses &/or cookies is such a fun thing for us to do together.

My favorite life well lived moment is cutting out Christmas cookies with my children, and then icing them. It is such a messy task, but brings such happy memories. The cookies are turning out cuter each year as the children get older, but the memories are sweeter from when they were so little.

Being with my family during the holidays is the best gift. Christmas is such a nice time of year, we get to celebrate the birth of Jesus and it's a time to share the love, with everybody. Thanks for having this great giveaway and Happy Holidays!

I've been enjoying watching my kids as we light the Hanukkah candles. My son, who has autism, is enthralled by the lights and my 2 year old daughter loves to help me pick out what color candles we're going to use.

sitting out by the potomac river and just enjoying the peace and freedoms that i have, remind me of how great my life is

cdnkaro 16 pts

Our life well lived moment is teaching our children that Christmas is not about receiving, but rather about giving. They help us choose gifts and prepare a family for a family in need in our community, and we make the donation anonymously so that they understand the meaning of generosity- giving for the sake of giving, and not expecting thanks or recognition. In a consumerist society where values are often overlooked, I think the holidays serve as a good reminder that not everyone is as fortunate as we are and that our good fortune ought not be taken for granted.

It is spending time with my grandbabies, kids, and husband. We lost one daughter, so every moment is special when you spend it with those you love the most.

The moments that help me appreciate Life Well Lived, is seeing how excited my daughter is. She turned 5 this year and has helped more with decorating our home, making her christmas list, making and sending christmas cards, planning our christmas dinner and helping make cookies and candy. My daughter helps make all the bad things in my life a little easier to deal with.

My life well lived Christmas memory is last Christmas Eve. My husband, kids and I spent the afternoon outside shoveling, sledding, and setting up luminaries. We went inside in time to warm up with hot chocolate and have dinner before heading out to the candlelight service at church. It was such a perfect family day!

I have to say, for me it's tough to decide. As a family we've been rehearsing songs to perform for Abuela, and there's nothing sweeter than the soul and sincerity of a 4 year old belting out "You are My Sunshine" or the enthusiasm of my 2 year old twins ringing their Jingle Bells. But, best of all, was my daughter suggesting that we gather up our toys to give away. "I have too many, and some kids have none." I really admire her giving spirit. So we're not giving them any toys this year. We're donating instead. Grandma has made up for our "lack" and gifted in abundance! We're overwhelmed with gratitude for our great blessings.

My life well lived moment would have to be my boys wanting to donate any spare change to every bell ringer we see!

It's been 19 years since my mother passed 2 days after Christmas. A life well lived would be to have had her with me though my 30s 40s and now 50s. A life well lived would have been sharing my passion for cooking and baking and turning it into a business that she could have shared with me. My life might have been different had I not lost her back then. Ive moved on but not well. She would be sad to know I didnt deal with her passing well and all the years around the holidays are so very difficult. Instead of living a life well lived ive dealt with grief and unhappiness. Shame on me...

Maria Niles 13 pts

breadnbuttergourmet There is no shame in grieving. I'm so sorry for your loss. Our Editor in Chief, Stacy Morrison is dealing with the sadness of the loss of her parents during the holidays and wrote about it here http://www.blogher.com/living-grief-and-love-durin... Like Stacy, I hope you are able to find that memories of your mother bring a little bit of comfort to you.

We've had a couple of lean years, so now that things are better, the things that make me happy are the ones where I make someone smile. Doing a favor for a friend (who is already stressed out with her grad school applications), making cookies with my kids or piling everyone in the car to go look at Christmas lights-those are the ones that make me happy.

My dad came home from the nursing home last month. We didn't think he'd see home again. He can't see very well or hear much, but he can tell when I smooth a soft blanket over his lap. And he smiles.

A life well lived moment is simply one that I notice. It's the noticing that makes it matter.

Of course, if the noticed moment includes a loved one or a piece of dark chocolate, WIN!
