Light from electronics at night may cause stress, depression and learning problems

Staying up late on your iPad might may you stressed, depressed and cognitively challenged - but not necessarily from lack of sleep.

A new study has revealed that exposure to bright lights at night - from lamps, computers and tablets - can increase certain stress hormones that result in depression and decreased cognitive function, such as learning and memory.

When tested in mice (which are actually very similar to humans), the issues were resolved with Prozac, which indicates it's not a problem cause by lack of sleep.
