And now we come to the finale. Sen. Barack Obama will mount a podium at the Invesco Field to tell the 70,000 assembled there that he accepts the Democratic Party's nomination for President. His speech ...

MCCAIN'S OFFICE CONFIRMS!
Okay, so I lost ten bucks on Joe Lieberman, BUT WHAT A WAY TO LOSE TEN BUCKS!!! I don't even have pants on and I am running around blogging because I AM SO EXCITED OMG PLEASE LET THIS NOT BE A HEAD FAKE OMG. I have resisted blogging on the whole McCain Veep thing because they kept faking everyone out and telling us that this guy was clearing his schedule and this guy had the Secret Service creeping out and NOW there's a CHARTERED JET that is landing from ALASKA and OMG SARAH PALIN OMGOMGOMGOMG!
The subject of kids' allowances is a hot topic in the momosphere, as confused parents try to figure out the best way to teach their children responsible money management. Most people would agree that hands-on experience is best, of course, but how do you navigate confusing chore charts? Should you tie chores to payment, or are chores just part of being in the family? And how do you know how much to pay them?
It's been reported this morning that neither Tim Pawlenty nor Mitt Romney, two of the rumored John McCain VP choices, will be going to Dayton today for McCain's announcement.
For a while, I've been saying that McCain would be wise to choose Alaska Governor Sarah Palin -- a pro-life candidate and mother of two teen girls.
A report this morning is saying that a small plane from Alaska landed this morning at an airport near Cincinnati whose passengers included a woman with two teen-agers and that there was much secrecy about the passengers.
Wonder if I called it?
I had the pleasure today of speaking on a panel here in the Big Tent with some fabulous women. Marie Wilson of the White House Project, Lisa Witter, author of the She Spot, fellow BlogHer Sarah Granger and Jehmu Greene of WomenCount.
We had a fantastic discussion about Clinton, Obama, women voters, and feminism. After all was said and done, the women were kind enough to answer a few of my questions off stage.
BlogHer's DNC team is exhausted after days of blogging and endless events. All of it culminated tonight at Mile High Stadium where Senator Barack Obama accepted the Democratic nomination for president.
I've compiled some of the moments from inside Invesco below in video and photos.
What's happening this week in the world of fashion? We have gorgeous accessories, the biggest fall trends, and fashion from the Democratic National Convention. Plus, advice on how to recession-proof your closet.
Everyone loves lists, and currently food bloggers around the world are rushing to post one. Bloggers by the droves are talking about The Omnivore's Hundred, a meme created by Andrew at Very Good Taste which suggests 100 foods every omnivore should try. And now there's a Vegan Hundred too, created by Hannah from Bittersweet.
I've been in Los Angeles for six years now (yes, counting the years represents a total fail on a New Year's Resolution), and in that time I honestly believe that I have made almost entirely poor romantic decisions. I mean, six years of almost total fail.I didn't listen to friend's good advice when I was too naive to know better. More recently, I listened to friend's bad advice when I knew myself and the situation better.
Janna Six from the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado shared with us some of the efforts to make the DNC (and The Big Tent) the greenest convention ever. From compostable flatware and smoothie cups to businessmen on bikes and an army of volunteers, the DNC benefited from an array of clever efforts to not just green the conference but to plant seeds for the future. Now to see if the RNC follows... Stay tuned!

Another month, another food recall. What started off as the summer of the salmonella tomato has turned into the summer of the listeria deli meat. It feels like every time we turn around there's another outbreak of some foodborne illness that is out to get us. The latest recall of meat from Maple Leaf Foods involves over 200 products and it feels like it's lasted almost as many days.
The Muse Asylum is in agreement with me on that one.
