Are you ready for some football?

October 11th, 2006 by pavcrawphan

Dsc_0061Here they are your miami dolphins…LOl or maybe you are interested in patriots instead…we saw them both…at Gillette stadium.

I have to say that the stadium is a lot larger than I thought it was…Lol and I think there is this replica of a lighthouse, but I was curious what the heck was with all the desert grasses and other items at the base of the lighthouse?!

Dsc_0114_1Here are your New England Patriots!  WooHoo.  The giant inflatable helmet is just part of the Gillette Stadium fanfare..Hilarious.  They have these minutemen, aka revolutionary soldiers, that fire off their rifles everytime the Patriots score field goals and touchdowns.

O, and check out their mascot…cute..and the patriot…american flag hair…great stuff.  It was a good game in the beginning with back and forth action, but then it was all Patriots.  So sad for those Dolphins.

Dsc_0150And he is down and out for the round…o wait this isn’t boxing..my bad.  So I am still reeling from the weekend.  I am exhausted from a lack of sleep and I wish that I could just take a long nap.  That would be nice…I think that my body is ready to be done working two jobs and focus on myself and husband for a while, but how does one get rid of a second job that keeps you from going insane?!

Well back to the story about the game on sunday.

Dsc_0172Well here those revolutionary warriors, firing off their guns in honor of the points.

I thought I would share these photos at least.  I guess I have lost my will to continue to blog…I am bored with it now for whatever reason, but I wanted to get these pictures out for all to see! HAHAHAHA

That’s all folks…have a good night

A-Maze-Ing

October 11th, 2006 by pavcrawphan

It was a whirlwind weekend once again…and yes we flew up to Massachusetts to spend time with Terrie and Jeffy and head over to Gillette Stadium.  It was a kicker of a weekend with airport nuttery…and pickup craziness.

We got to the airport for what I thought would be a smooth trip of peace and quiet given the lateness of our flight, but we got this perky college student next to us and she was all but chatty…about her family and her her broker, who she was visiting in Rhode Island, etc.  We got off the plane and met Terrie downstairs by baggage claim and then the fun ensued…she forgot her parking ticket in her car, which she need to put in the machine to pay for her parking before she got into the car and drove to the exit.  Hilarious…we got to the car thought we could park and hit the machine before exiting…no such luck when we had to block the exit lane while cris ran by the parking attendant to the machine and put money in so we could leave.  Hilarious…

On Sat. we hit the Davis Farm Maze…lets just say that this maze is a monster and to get out of it is a pain….lol  here’s  photos of the maze:
Img_0352
There were 10 bridges total in the maze and all decked out with movie themes from pirates to super heroes to covered wagons and alien ships.  One of the scavenger hunts was to cross all 10 bridges and get your little program stamped to indicate that youhad been on all ten…and the punches actually punched out the number of the bridge you were on…gotta love scrapbooking materials from craft stores.
Img_0344
Here is one of the stunts in the maze…this was in the alien alcove…and I made cris slide down the dark tunnel from the mother ship. Hilarious…I think he has fun doing these kid things…honestly…while I was busy shooting photos and finding seals of SAG, TONY, OSCAR, etc.  Nevermind etching out the map pieces so we could get the heck out of the maze in the first place…lol
Img_0353

Aren’t they cute…This is terrie and her man, jeff, and they had a grand old time posing with their souveniers from the maze…gold coins…lol this maze is created by a London designer…and let me just tell you…he had us going around in circles for over 4 hours.  it was crazy.

I’ll have to blog a bit later about Sunday’s adventures, including the trip home via airplane.

Work, work, work

August 15th, 2006 by pavcrawphan

I don’t understand baby boomers who want to continue working throughout their retirement years when they don’t have to–this comment excludes those like my parents who have been forced to work through retirement due to their meager pensions and social security benefits.

Right now, I work two jobs and freelance for one person on the side as well and pray every day that the husband will have overtime so we can actually have money to do something fun once in a while.  We have barely enough money to keep ourselves afloat and thought maybe if we bought property, it would lower our taxes and what we owe each year to the IRS, and yes, we owe them money every year because I have too many jobs just to keep the roof over our heads and not fall behind on bills.  I can’t wait for retirement, but the problem for me is that there will be NO social security, and I’ll be lucky if I can get a pension payout that won’t be taxed until there are only two pennies to rub together.

Ok, my point is this.  FDR had it right when he set up these systems; we should care for the elderly and those that cannot care for themselves…that is what makes us human…to do anything less equates us with greedy, selfish animals that leave their disabled and distorted young to die in the forest….alone.  RIDICULOUS.  The baby boomers have lived through several wars and their parents before them had to survive the greatest wars, but here we are telling them they cannot have social security or pensions.  I’m all for free markets and capitalism, but does that mean we have to sacrifice our humanity as well?  I think not.

It is time for a change, but I cannot do it on my own.  We need to be conscious voters, hold representatives accountable for their votes, and write and call them like our grandparents did or protest in the streets like out parents did.  We need to stop being so DAMNED apathetic.  It is sickening.

stepping down from my soapbox.

Peachy Orchard Trip

July 18th, 2006 by pavcrawphan

Img_0060Millions of peaches, these peaches were not for free…though they were only 99 cents per pound.  Millions of peaches, peaches for me.  As you can see I am in a whimsical mood suddenly?  Odd, these mood swings.

Img_0074Here’s a great photo of Francesca eating roasted corn.  She looks like she is enjoying herself doesn’t she.  She doesn’t even use butter or salt either, she merely eats the roasted corn as it is.  Isn’t she cute.  I think there is even one of me eating roasted corn as well, but I naturally eat it with butter and salt. :)

Hmm, some how anna escaped her photo being taken; I wonder how that occurred?  Interesting. We’ll have to get her next time.

Img_0075oops here I am.  LOL miss me…well here I am eating corn.  Well really I think I am almost done with it at this point though, but Cris got a good picture of me, didn’t he?! LOL  Wish you call could have been at the orchard…it was great fun.

I will leave you with one last picture when I finish this blog, or maybe two pictures, we’ll see.

I think we need more days outside in nature.  It has been very boring working day in and day out.  I would like to go hiking in the shenandoah, though not in this oppressive heat.  UCKY! I think with the heat factor its about 110 degrees today.  Sickening isn’t it.

Img_0069Now, who is this muscle woman here? She picked up a whole half bushel by herself…Isn’t she cute.  She even sticks out her tongue as she struggles with the box.  And you’ll never guess who decked her out in the boston red sox hat. LOL

See how many boxes of peaches there were; way too many!  LOL shannon just couldn’t stop picking.

Ok and for that promised last photos.  I will post one photo that little frannie took all by herself…though I am only partially in it and well, shannon didn’t make it at all unfortunately, but her favorite people made it in the photo I suppose…well at least her mom and dad are her favorite people….and then of course there is her uncle cris.  LOL

Here is the last photo of the group!

WORLD CUP FERVOR AND THE LETDOWN

July 18th, 2006 by pavcrawphan

Yes, I have become a soccer junky once again, but now that the World Cup is over, I feel that my energy has been sapped out.  I wonder if other fans feel this way when the cup has ended.  Hmm, what sport should I get addicted to now? Tennis..I know there is the legg mason tourney going on, but tennis seems mild compared to the nipple twisting, head-butting world of soccer.

I do need to find things to occupy my time and to create a blissful environment in which to flourish, though its hard to create these things will all this humidity and heat going on down here in D.C.  I am stifled.  Hopefully, tonight I will get into a writing groove again and will get out of this self-pitying mood I seem to be in.  Although having a pity party with the husband was kind of interesting.

Guinnes03152006
This is what I will probably need a pint of this week!  LOL Give me the good old hardcore Guinness!  The only things I have accomplished thus far this week has been to mail these packages to Jen, Terrie, Liz, and Mary that have been sitting around my apartment for weeks and weeks.  LOL and Today, the husband will have the oil changed in the Honda and get a replacement antenna, since someone stole ours…which really pissed me off.  But my little baby will be back to almost new, minus the wonderful keying effect on the side door that really irritates me as well…and I thought we moved out of the ghetto.

WORLDCUP WEDNESDAY!

July 5th, 2006 by pavcrawphan

You guessed it.  It’s my team v. France today, and I can’t even watch the game on television….UGH I hate working outside the home.  :))

When Portugal kicks France’s butt, they will be facing Italy, which beat out country favorite Germany to make it to the cup tourney.  Am I excited about this? You betcha.  When the Cup game is, I don’t know, but I will be taping it, like I am today with the Portugal Game, or I will be watching it.

Too bad we don’t get more days off in the middle of the week.

Construction continues even in the rain..

June 27th, 2006 by pavcrawphan

Img_1567At least these construction workers seem to have a sense of humor…must have been a lot of hubbub about the construction.  Too bad they haven’t figured out how to actually collect the quarters they could probably collect from these viewers.

Heck anna and I would probably pay to view it at least one time…lol

I really am sick of this rain can you tell, I’ve been blogging all day.

Img_1569

here’s a little peep for you hee hee…
Img_1573

here’s my little peep into the watery hole of the new condos…lol

Img_1572

Even Anna took a look; she was way too curious for words here….I even had to take it twice, but you only get her good side.
