Bloggers love to come together to network and learn from each other. Conferences give us the opportunity to do just that and there is no shortage of blogging conferences for 2009. I've compiled a list (by no means complete--there are too many opportunities to list!) of conferences that cater to beginning, intermediate, and advanced bloggers. International? I didn't forget you! This list includes information on conferences in the United States, Canada, India, Italy, and England.

Unless otherwise noted, the description of a conference came directly from that conference's web site. Social Media also has a list of blogging conferences.

January

Chicks Who Click

Friday is a ski day, the conference is all day Saturday. Chicks Who Click is bringing you the chance to learn from and network with the likes of Barbara Jones (One2One Network), Lucretia Pruitt (Social Media Matters), Jenny Slade (National Center for Women & Information Technology) and many more!

She’s Geeky events are neutral, face-to-face gathering spaces for women who like to geek out. Attendees include women involved in all aspects of technology, including those who like to use geeky tools, not just coders, programmers and engineers. You don’t even have to be from the computer industry. You just have to be a woman who identifies as a geek. If you’re any of these things, you’re invited to come to She’s Geeky to:

  1. Exchange skills and learn from women in different fields of technology.
  2. Discuss issues that affect women in the technology industry.
  3. Connect with other women in technology, computing, entrepreneurship, funding, hardware, open source, nonprofit and any other technical geeky field.

Disclosure: BlogHer will be a sponsor or media partner of this event.

We’ve got some amazing panels in the works with women who are all defining what Bliss means to them that are passionate about paying it forward and helping you find your Bliss.

Disclosure:I am speaking on a panel with Shannon Lowe at Blissdom! We'll be offering advice to beginning bloggers about choosing a platform, establishing your voice, and much more. We'll also be taking your questions (and there are no stupid questions!).

I find it odd that there is nothing in the LA area. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much for this Melanie!!! Now to figure out how many I can get away with attending (ie. affordability, time away from kids, etc.). I so appreciate having a schedule for planning for the year :) Like Virginia, I'll be printing out and hanging in my office...

Since the Wordpress conference is mentioned, I thought I'd toss in DrupalCon, which is happening in Washington DC from March 4-7.

DrupalCon is the official Drupal unconference that attracts the most talented open source developers and innovative web shops in the world and brings them together to share knowledge, make decisions on the future of Drupal, and get to know each other in person.

It's also the premiere opportunity for Drupal users to learn what they can do with Drupal, find partners for future projects, and meet the people behind the code.

In this agenda you can see what the conference will focus on, and as you can see it's designed for both developers and Drupal users. The first three days of the conference will be about learning, while the last day will be about doing - that's when we'll all work together to push code and documentation forward.

DrupalCon is a volunteer run, nonprofit conference.

I've put the info in a pdf and will link that up this afternoon. I hope that will make it easier for everyone to print if they want to!

Also, for another list of web events, check out Mashable's list at http://mashable.com/2008/12/29/mashable-events-dec...

I should print it and hang it by my calendar! I'll be at SXSW and BlogHer. See you there! It's not just for bloggers, but I'm also planning to go to Web Directions North in Denver this year.
