Lose The Weight, Gain Your Life: My Journey On Losing 100 Pounds week 5

"If you so choose, even the unexpected setbacks can bring new and positive possibilities. If you so choose, you can find value and fulfillment in every circumstance."  Ralph Marston

Week 5 was crap.

I did hardly anything with my full effort.  I was sleep deprived, exhausted, hungry, sad, and stressed!

Weigh day came.... 251.  I admit I cried.   I was heartbroken that I've made changes, good changes, and it feels like it's not showing.   I was able to see, from her perspective, why my sister had gastric bypass.  I know it's only been a few weeks but to fluctuate back into the range that I thought I was done with is enfuriating and defeating.

I won't give up.

"A lot of people have gone further than they thought they could because someone else thought they could"- Zig Ziglar      Well, this is true.  When I was losing my mind over the scale and my tears flooded my eyes so much I couldn't see, my husband looked me in the eyes and told me not to let the little setback prevent me from trying.  This isn't about the number on the damn scale, it's about being healthy.  He told me to keep trying and it will eventually payoff.  Giving up now would be a big mistake and nothing would get better if I gave up.    WOW do I have a great motivator of a husband or what?!?!

So I'm continuing the effort this week.

This is from a commercial but it's from AHA which I fully support as heart disease is rampant in my family.

"I read something today that made me think of the first time I saw your smile... you laughed at my dumb joke.  Remember the first time we kissed?  The first time I made you cry?  I want you to take care of yourself 'cause there's still more firsts I want to share with you.  [Heart disease kills more women than all cancers combined. Talk to the women you love]."- a commercial from the American Heart Association.

Something to think about.....

- Drink Water

- Eat veggies and eat fruit

- Don't eat processed food

- Persevere

- Focus

- Pray

I know I can't do this on my own.  I hope if you are doing this journey you also have a support system!
