I had never heard of a "Low Country Boil" until I had it at my dad's house last year. It was so delicious. I have no idea why I waited so long to make it myself...with help from the hubs, of course! We didn't follow the recipe exactly, but it was still so good that we ate on it for a few days!
The recipe that I referenced is located here. I just searched online for an easy recipe, and this looked as good as any. Now that I think about it, I don't know why I didn't ask my dad for his recipe. Anyways, we didn't use as much corn as directed. We only used 3 ears of corn because our stockpot couldn't hold that many. We also added new potatoes and green peppers to ours and boiled them first, so they'd be soft and tender.
I told dad that it was super spicy, so he asked if I used a few tablespoons of Old Bay Seasoning. I told him that the recipe I found called for Zatarain's Crab Boil. He laughed and said that's why it was so spicy! haha Plus I think we should have used a larger stockpot because more water would have diluted the crab boil bag. Oh well, it was delicious! We might try dad's recipe next time, though. Here's the recipe on this cute graphic I made. I hope you love it as much as we did! If you don't like seafood, it would still be delicious with just the vegetables and sausage. Just a thought! Enjoy!
