Making Food-Safe Silicone Molds
By karabuntin on February 03, 2012
I did a series on making silicone molds for cake decorating on my cake blog over the past couple of weeks.
Silicone molds are big business in the cake world. Food-safe silicone molds can be found in pretty much every shape, but they never come in the exact size that you need. They can also be pretty expensive, so making your own is a good option.
You can also use silicone molds for soap, polymer clay, and other ceramics. Making your own molds is fairly easy, but people seem to be scared to do it.
The first part of the series can be found here http://www.acaketorememberva.blogspot.com/2012/01/making-molds-for-cake-decorating.html
