The Man for the Job.
I love the show Duck Dynasty, what a Godly show and family to watch. A show I can watch with my children and not fear that their innocence will be jeopardized. As a woman of God myself, I am called to protect their innocence and I take that very seriously. Phil and Mrs. Kay are my favorite from the show, they are the sweetest couple I have ever seen. I just love how Phil loves Mrs. Kay and I just love how sweet Mrs. Kay is. Truly a precious and Godly couple. Just to hear their story and how far God has brought them, to see His blessing on their lives. Just gives hope to all of us, still believing God for His promises if we too are obedient in our walk with Him. Now with the recent controversy over the show, it seems that this family has a God given opportunity and platform to really stand strong on God’s word here. I believe there is no better family than the Robertson's to do so. I believe this family has been chosen by God to stand in the gap for the homosexual community, which will inevitable be the cornerstone bridging them back to God in repentance. Jesus was the ultimate cornerstone and we are called to do what Jesus did. We are called to do even more than what Jesus did, because He went to the Father and sat down at His right hand. Praise God.
I have prayed about this for a long time and I have also prayed regarding the occurrence of these recent events with Phil Robertson. God will seldom grieve my heart for sinners, all sinners. Those who have not repented and turned from their ways. But, even in the sum of all those people. He has given me an even deeper burden for two specific groups, homosexuals and Hollywood. I think because, these are two groups who are often overlooked on the prayer room floors. Sure many detest homosexuality and speak against it, but have you prayed for them? Have you shared their burden and grief? Have you put yourself in their shoes, what if you desired to be with your same sex? How would you want someone to treat you, if everything in you screamed for something that was a sin? I know I would want someone to not look down on me, but help me fight. Have you asked God to break your heart for them and what they deal with? It will humble you and move you with compassion. You will bare their burdens and fight for them with such a greater intensity. That my friends, will be what moves God.
And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things. Mark 6:34 NIV
After praying about this, this is what the Lord showed me: The Lord showed me that Phil Robertson because of Jesus, is the cornerstone that will bridge God and the homosexual community. God is calling us, the body of Christ to pray for Phil. Lifting his hands up in this hour of battle. Just as with Moses, when Israel was fighting the Amalek. They were only victorious when Moses hands stayed in the air towards God. We must lift up Phil's hands now and that is done by prayer. God has showed me he is the man for the job, he can withstand this. But, he will only succeed in this battle if we the body of Christ pray for him. We must stand united as the body of Christ, unwavering in God’s word, with love as the motive of our hearts, and most importantly praying for him. We will gain the victory in this battle for their souls if we do this.
Exodus 17:11 And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. 12 But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. 13 So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword."
I am calling all Christian's to pray, if you are a Christian and your heart is hardened towards the Gay community. Please know that is not God and please pray that God would give you a heart for them and a burden to see them set free. Loving them and not just stating scripture to support your hate, a prideful stance will not move God. Only true love and compassion will move God, because that is His heart for them. That is His heart for all sinners. Your hate or judgment for them, will only consume and imprison you and does NOTHING for advancing Gods Kingdom.
"If you give them the bad news, they’ll start kicking and screaming. But you love them more than you fear them, so you tell them."-(Phil Robertson, GQ magazine, 2013)
Father, I thank you for Phil Robertson and the work you have begun in him. I thank you Father that he knows firsthand what it is like to be a sinner and how you set him free from his sin of fornication. You didn't just set him free from that one sin, but all sin. I praise you for that. I ask Father, that you will move through people's hearts and urge them to pray for Phil in this hour. That we will unite on the front row of this battle; praying, loving, and moving together to see others set free. May we never forget the love and mercy you showed us in our sin and may we do the same. May this be an hour that you have prepared many to fight and for those who are not moving out of a motive of love. I pray for them right now, that you would grieve their hearts. So, that they can have compassion instead of judgment. May we all feel Father your heart for your children and may we move together to go after them. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
