It came to me in a dream the other night: the word MANAGEMENT in hot neon lights, like the word "Honesty" from many blogs back. I looked under the word, Management,  to gauge its meaning, and I found it applicable to every relationship in our lives. There is so much uncertainty now - in the markets (job, stock and even grocery store prices), so much unsaid, so much bad news, you need to be a steel magnolia to keep yourself from diving under your covers and waiting for the other shoe to drop. In other words, to thrive-survive, you must MANAGE your life carefully, now - more than ever.

This Management  requirement goes from  bottom- up - from creating a budget, to living within its means, to managing your time and your stress level,to managing your friendships, marriage or love life. . Just how many jobs can you do a week? How many balls can you juggle? Just how many demands can you meet - from boss, aged parent, adult, small child, spouse or partner? That is,  before you drop a shoe or two.  I believe Time Management is every bit as important now, as a money management,. If you manage your time, you eliminate  stress, while increasing your productivity. Less stress equals more quality of work and life. I know this to be True.

While we wait for the governments (city, state, federal) to figure out who to bail and who to set sail, we can't help but wonder - is my house value going to continue to plummet? Will I be able to afford tuition for my college-bound child? How can I ever retire? Even the Trust Fund Babies wonder what will happen to their investments now. Just what is safe? Ah -- too many crooks spoiled the broth, my friends. The black hats didn't see the Honesty sign flashing on and off. They went, and are still going, down.  We've lived too long in near-darkness.

That being said, there is a future  and a road to get us there.  Although the road is full of pot-holes, broken concrete and faded lanes, I hear there's a new infrastructure program that's soon going to fix it. That's  a bit of good news, isn't it? Just remember to be patient;  this is a long ride we're on (or so it will seem), lots of dips and downs and dumps before we even get back to the starting block.

While we're waiting for The Good News, put on your Management hat and start organizing, paring down, cutting back, making-do, delegating, praising and critiquing (where necessary, but gently) - in every facet of your life. For too long, we've let clutter and excess pile up; bad guys reap rewards;our dear Country fall apart. This could be considered the biggest mess ever.

Management is the new everything.
