Last-Minute Thanksgiving Side Dish: Maple Syrup Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Maple syrup roasted Brussels sprouts are easily the best Brussels sprouts that I have ever eaten.

Roasting Brussels sprouts makes them tender with a little bit of crispness around the edges.  It also brings out their natural sweetness.  Adding the sweetness of maple syrup to roasted sprouts makes it out-of-this-world good!  I love the sweet and salty flavor combination in this dish.

If you don’t think you like Brussels sprouts, try these.  I bet you’ll change your mind.

Maple Syrup Roasted Brussels Sprouts
 
Recipe type: side dish
Serves: 6
Prep time: 10 mins
Cook time: 40 mins
Total time: 50 mins
  
Ingredients
  • 1½ pounds Brussels sprouts
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
 Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Trim the stems of the sprouts. Remove any outer leaves that are wilted and cut the sprouts in half.
  3. Add the sprouts, oil, salt and pepper to a large bowl. Toss to fully coat the sprouts.
  4. Spread the sprouts on a large baking sheet in a single layer.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes then stir the sprouts. Bake for another 15 minutes. Then drizzle the maple syrup over the sprouts and stir to coat. Bake for 10 more minutes.
