Today the French and British Prime ministers paid her homage. Last night Anderson Cooper, realizing the futility of his statement, told her to "stay safe". Then the government troops locked onto her communication beams and shelled her compound. Today she and her French photographer are dead. Her mother, Rosemarie Colvin said "…she was totally, totally committed to what she did and the importance of telling the story and writing it and getting it out to the world, no matter what. That was her life."
Rest in peace Marie Colvin, we are less for your passing.
