May 24 - Sheryl WuDunn, Co-Author of "Half the Sky", in Conversation with Kavita Ramdas in San Francisco

On May 24, Facing History and Ourselves and The Allstate Foundation are hosting a community conversation with Sheryl WuDunn, co-author with Nicholas Kristof of the best-selling "Half the Sky: Turning Opression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide."


The book highlights powerful stories of resilience and participation from around the world; addresses maltreatment, marginalization, and brutality toward women; and draws a compelling picture of the trials and triumphs of women struggling for opportunity and equality. WuDunn will be in conversation with Kavita Ramdas, President and CEO of the Global Fund for Women, the world’s largest grantmaking foundation focused exclusively on supporting international women’s human rights.


This amazing event, which will be at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, is happening in partnership with Girls for a Change, Global Women's Leadership Network, International Museum of Women, Reach Global, Spark SF, and World Savvy. s part of Facing History’s national series of Community Conversations, this event is free and open to the public.
