Although I'm a professional freelance writer, to date I have worked only in nonfiction. I spend most of my time writing or editing science and medicine articles and books. Is Estradiol the best hormone therapy?

At 49 years of age, I've been considering hormone therapy for a couple years. But, as someone with an educational and professional background in biology, I've always been concerned about putting pills in my body and about the possible adverse effects they might have, such as cancer. I've recently started using Estradiol (a generic synthetic estrogen identical to regular human estrogen) at 2 mg/day, as well as soy isoflavones (a phytoestrogen) at about 200 mg/day.  Read more >
