The Santa Years: Let's Just Agree To Disagree

I don't understand the arguments (respectful or otherwise) about telling kids about Santa or not. I know a few people can see both sides of the argument, but I think many don't. And that's where the problem lies. People who aren't told of Santa have the same Christmases as those who do. Santa may not be the focus, but fun was had by all. And those who choose to carry on a Santa-less tradition shouldn't be blasted or thought loons. Sadly, we live in a time where people are more judgmental than they are open.   Read more >

I have been reading post after post about Lowe's pulling their ads off the cable show, "All-American Muslim," and I'm left wondering when will people wake up. It's almost like people will always need to have another race or group to look down on, even though they have faults of their own. While there have been some strides, I just think America is treading water when it comes to "all for one, and one for all."  Read more >

I'm supposed to be doing something else, but I am here after months of not logging in. I think this procrastination boils down to fear of change. Instead of writing for Nanowrimo or working, I am blogging, commenting, stumbling, digging and tweeting. But if I focused on my manuscript, even finishing it in 2011, life would change. On my fandom blog, I'm doing two memes, and I've been mulling over the idea of doing the music meme on my Facebook profile. Sure, I've posted links to my blog posts for the two blogs I want family and friends to read about, but I don't want to bombard them with a 30-day meme and giving certain ones insight into my psycheI am a semi-private person. Despite only friends being able to see my links and images and status updates, I feel that putting that information out there is a tad bit much.  Read more >
