Can't wait for a snow day!

It's snowing pretty solidly outside my window here in suburban New York City, so I'm guessing my kids will not be heading off to school tomorrow.  Right now in my cozy, and child-free, living room at 10pm I am so excited for all the fun things we're going to do tomorrow with our free day.  We'll walk into town if the wind isn't blowing too much, and have lunch or some hot chocolate.  We'll go in the back yard and build a snowman.  Read more >

Two Views of the Movie Avatar

A few nights ago, my husband and I took my mom to see Avatar in celebration of her seventieth birthday.  She met us at our house and off we went leaving the kids with a sitter. The next evening over dinner we were telling the kids how great the movie was, but that we couldn't take them to see it for another few years because it had a lot of war and battle scenes and other scary stuff we didn't think they were old enough to watch.  Read more >
