I had never heard of the terms attachment parenting or unconditional parenting before I had my daughter, now 2 and a half years old. Before that though the parenting had been largely guided by one thing that stood out above all, a message that I could almost HEAR in my head, ‘do not be like your mother, be like your Dad.’ Attachment parenting, even unconditional parenting is what I strive for in my life as a parent. I don't know when it started to happen, but about a month ago I was feeling upset and tired, mixture of things really. I blurted out to my husband that i was fed up of always being at the bottom of the pecking order.
