Women in Games: The Escapist's Susan Arendt

controller

Welcome, GamingAngels (and now BlogHer!) readers! It’s time to start bringing you more Women in Games interviews. Why? Because so many people don’t realize all the different ways that you can work with games. You don’t have to be a programmer, or an artist — you can take your skills and make a gaming-related career out of it, and that’s pretty awesome.  Read more >

About Me:
I'm a tech-loving lady with a penchant for learning as much as possible about as many things as possible. I'm currently learning computer programming (very slowly), guitar, and also getting my master's degree in counseling. So that's fun. I write every day. I always have. I don't see that changing.
Profession:
Blogger, student, photographer, a little of everything.
Location:
Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Location Tags:
I live in the Southern U.S. I don't really want to.
Employers:
I primarily work for GamingAngels and myself (as a writer and photographer, respectively). In the past, I've worked in nonprofits and also for Monster.com.
School Tags:
For my undergraduate degree, I attended Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, GA, which is a small women's liberal arts college on the outskirts of the city. It's kind of the best place ever. For my graduate degree, I'm at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
About Me Tags:
I am just a Jill-of-all-trades. If you want me to do it, I probably can.
Causes Tags:
Getting girls into STEM fields, counseling legitimacy in the mental health field, immigration reform in the U.S., ending rape culture, making being a nerd a good thing.
