I have spent years researching the best ways to convert good, old-fashioned, traditional recipes into leaner, healthier versions. I have written and self-published over 40 books, among them healthy cookbooks and gift books. Over the years I have become dedicated to preventative medicine through diet, exercise and lifestyle, and I am especially passionate about the healthy eating habits of our children!

In 2005 I authored Wiley Publishing's Healthy Carb Cookbook For Dummies(R). Soon after, I landed a contract with Adams Media Publishing to author The Everything Lactose Free Cookbook, released February 2008.

Along with my new love of blogging, I'm very passionate about the prevention of childhood obesity... and that's where "Cooking with Kids" comes in! If children learn early to cook with fresh ingredients they are learning about nutrition. Research shows that this early involvement in food preparation sticks with them for life!
