Christina Allred

I am a very busy lady.  I am (obviously) the mother of twin girls on the autism spectrum.  I am a full-time substitute teacher.  I also have the pleasure of being married to a wonderful guy, who just happens to travel ALL THE TIME for work.  And, to complicate my life further, I have a very needy, allergy-plagued bulldog that is nearly as ridiculous as my children tend to be.  Needless to say, I have a lot to talk about.  Even the simplest of events becomes an adventure in my little corner of the world!

So hop aboard the Crazy Train-- I've saved you a seat!

How Should a Teacher Break the News that Your Kid is Weird?

Lunch in the Teachers' Lounge is never dull.  Every day at noon, several of my co-workers and I break bread together and talk about whatever is on our minds.  We talk about our kids, our families, our extracurricular activities, and any of the hundreds of other things friends might discuss over lunch.  As you might have guessed, however, our number one topic of choice is our students.  And whywouldn't it be, right?!...more
