I love to cook! I believe that good meals can be made on a budget. I almost never follow a recipe exactly - the exception being a completely new recipe (especially ethnic) where I am unsure how it will turn out (however, I usually change things if I make it again). I must admit though that I never use swiss cheese when making cordon bleu even though I love most cheeses.

My love for cooking started out very young. I would read my mom's cookbooks (or just look at pictures) and incidentally destroyed at least one (I love you Mom!) I made my first cake from scratch when I was 8 years old (didn't turn out quite right as I forgot to add either baking powder or baking soda but hey, I was 8).
