Can You Step Into Your Spouse's Shoes?

I've only experienced one low in my life. My husband has Type 1 diabetes. As a spouse, it can be a little hard to understand what my husband experiences when he has a low. There was one time that I experienced what he goes through when he has a low blood sugar. And I would never wish it on anyone--ever. After we had our son, we moved into our house. We were supposed to have moved a month before he was born. Instead, he came six weeks early and was two weeks old when we moved into our house. Does Diabetes Impact Your Marriage?

Do you think that having diabetes has an impact on your marriage? Financially? Emotionally? Physically? An article in Diabetes Care talks about a study that was performed on 50 adults ages 20-35. 37 women and 13 men were studied. Of those, 17 were single, 26 were married, and 7 were seperated or divorced. 22 spouses of the 26 married diabetic parents were also studied. Have You Considered Adoption After Having Children of Your Own?

My friend just told me that they are considering adoption. She has two kids and has always felt that she would have three or four children. She grew up in a large family, and would love to have a few more children. However, she feels that her kidneys may not be able to handle another child. She is Type 1, and her last two pregnancies were spent feeling sick and her kidneys levels were not normal much of the latter part of her pregnancy even though she did everything in her power to check her sugars and remain healthy.  Read more >

7 Year Old Boy Driver Causes Controversy

It's been a very, very long week and I woke up this morning to find the funniest video! However, since this happened in my state it has caused quite a controversy--read on! My husband and I died laughing when we saw this article on a little boy who drove home from church on his own. The little boy was seven years old and managed to drive from his home to his church without incident (or his parent's finding out). Of course he caught the eye of a police officer and when questioned the boy said, "He didn't want to go to church."  Read more >
