Just thinking about it gave me an adrenaline rush. Take a boat ride out into “Shark Alley.” Get in a cage and stay there until a great white shark – yeah, like the one in “Jaws” -- comes by. Then… what? Hang out? See if the shark tries to take a bite out of my leg? Cool!  Read more >

I realized one of my travel dreams recently, when I spent eight days on a holiday break in Cape Town, South Africa. The scenery was breathtaking, the weather perfect, the food delicious.And then there was the trash.Somehow, when you go so far away, to a place so exotic, you don’t expect to find the same problems you deal with day to day at home. A bulimic from age 22, Diane Keaton binged and vomited for three years until Woody Allen made her go see a psychoanalyst.She thought her nose was too big, so she slept with a bobby pin pinching it at night, “hoping the bulb would squeeze into a straight line.”Her mother was the “most important, influential person in [her] life,” but she didn’t really get to know her until after she lost her Mom to Alzheimer’s disease and adopted two children of her own.  Read more >

Hi. I'm passionate about women using their marketplace clout to protect the environment. I believe women who spend their money on products and services that can benefit the planet can be the greatest force for environmental change in the world. I'm excited to see women empowered by using their purses to get the world they want. My new book, Big Green Purse: Use Your Spending Power to Create a Cleaner, Greener World offers dozens of ways women can afford a greener lifestyle while using their consumer clout to accelerate the transition to a cleaner, greener planet. In addition to writing books, I speak on college campuses and before many other audiences, and consult with companies and non-profit organizations. I also update my widget once a week with an affordable green living tip, and send out a free e-newsletter every two weeks. The One in a Million campaign on www.biggreenpurse.com is encouraging a million shoppers to shift their spending to products and services that offer the greatest environmental benefit.
