Ever since the early days of the internet, you know back when we were all innocent, happily posting away, giddily anticipating as the square with the lightening (complete with sound effects) gave way to the one with the triangle…(or am I the only one who remembers the early days of dial up AOL?) There have also been warnings, few and quiet at first, becoming stronger and more dire as the years flew by…protect yourself and more importantly, your INFORMATION! My year of healthy living has gotten off to a rather rough start. Instead of me getting to make noble choices and regally turning my nose up at certain foods and or activities, thereby leaving me with at least a shred of my dignity (it certainly would have made me feel a little better about turning down that second scoop of double chocolate ice cream), I had a very scary wake up call instead.  Read more >

I took part in a live chat this evening with a couple of people that previously I really had considered icons of social media. I  looked up to them and respected their advice. I use the past tense for a reason. During the chat, the main participant who shall remain nameless here (after all I refuse to sink to her (level) repeatedly used the worst kind of profanity and then did her absolute best to shoot down every body’s ideas.  Read more >

Kristina Summers works for Thursday Green Media as a Social Media Consultant specialising in social media for wildlife conservation and is a graduate of the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. She enjoys being outside in the sunshine, playing baseball with her three children, watching "The Simpsons" and trivia games. Her passion for the environment and human rights is evident in her advocacy work with wildlife agencies, Girl Scouts, the World Wildlife Fund as well as The ONE Campaign of which she is a former director. She was recognized by the NAACP Image awards in 2006 for outstanding social justice for her work with ONE. She lives with her family in Statham, Ga. She often tells people her purpose in life is to leave the planet a little better than she found it.
