A touch of flu

Five to nine servings of vegetables a day. Lean proteins. Fish oil pills fo rmy Omega-3s. Neti pot. Constant washing of hands with old fashioned soap. I do all of the things we are supposed to do to stay healthy except for possibly getting enough sleep and avoiding stress. Those two things are just not going to happen in my world, except maybe in a feverish dream.  Read more >

The first time that I consciously remembered the taste of being poor was in middle school. I babysat often for a wealthy woman in our small town. She had two young sons whom I watched and a daughter who was about ten years older than me. I watched the boys several times a week and idolized V, their older sister.
