Last year, Academy Award-nominated African American actress Quvenzhané Wallis was confirmed as the lead role in the Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith-produced remake of the classic movie Annie. She'd just been nominated for her amazing portrayal of Hush Puppy in Beasts of the Southern Wild and received a lot of buzz as a rising star in Hollywood....more
My name is Feminista Jones and I am Kinky and proud! I realized a few years ago that I could never be completely happy in a “vanilla” relationship and that being “kinky” is a non-negotiable requirement for any union of which I become a part. I use these two terms because they are the most commonly used adjectives to differentiate between the lifestyles and practices of people who are involved in the BDSM Lifestyle and those who are not....more
With Valentine's Day right around the corner, we’re highlighting a few of our favorite fun, informative, and sexy blogs that highlight the diversity in sexuality. Check them out and tell us if you have other blogs to share!
I have read articles and book chapters about the marriage between Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King, two of the most prominent figures of the American Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s. I have learned interesting facts about how they met and their courtship, and I have been made privy to various allegations of extramarital affairs (on both sides). ...more

To simply say that I've "been through a lot" is understating the enormity of my experiences as an adult looking for love. I'm not even sure I can say that I've spent my adult years actively or consistently seeking love. Like many others, I think I've bought into the idea that I should be looking for love until I find it, and if that love fades away and its accompanying relationships fails, I should begin my search again and hope for something better....more
I used to protect myself from Christmas. Sure, like many children, Christmas was a pretty big deal to me, especially when I believed that Santa Claus was real and brought me presents each year for being a good girl. I grew older, though, and after family had dispersed, traumas had been experienced, and my Christian faith dissapated, Christmas eventually became meaningless to me.
I will admit that I have been a rather casual fan of the internationally-adored pop culture icon, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, even though she has been dominating the music industry for at least a decade. There is no denying that she is talented, loves her family, makes smart business moves, and is a beautiful person inside and out. My biggest issue was that she had a voice I felt she simply was not using to its fullest potential, both in sound and influence.
I am a Black feminist woman who believes wholeheartedly in equality for all human beings. I believe having equal access to resources and opportunities should be afforded to all people without limitations based on socially constructed ideas of race, gender, socioeconomic status or other things that make us "different" from each other....more
I came across the following :“No one addresses this aspect of monogamy: you have to earn it. I’m not referring to trust here. I’m referring to the way in which my sexual needs must be met in order for me to agree to it… Monogamy isn’t just something we do because it’s socially correct. It’s something we do if you and I remove the need for us to have sex with other people.”- SourceI generally agree with it and that is pretty much sums up my views about monogamy....more
