About Me:

Even before birth, Foodie Fatale (née Jocelyn Ruggiero) dined on the best pizza in the world—the renowned Pepe’s Pizza in New Haven—via her expectant mother. At nine months of age, her first “real” food was one of her Aunt Phil’s wicked meatballs, and her very first word was “cookie.” Important events and rituals in her family were all inextricably linked to food: There wasn’t a wake or a wedding that didn’t include antipasto and sfogliatelle. It was inevitable that one day Jocelyn would need to express her love of food on the stage. After years of appearing in art installations, Off-Off Broadway, regional theatre and independent video projects, she began performing her unique brand of burlesque as “La Divina Cucina.” Recipes as strip tease. In addition to appearing at various venues in New York City, she performed in Chicago as part of the acclaimed Gurlesque Burlesque at the Abbey and the Old Vic, alongside notable acts including Margaret Cho, Julie Atlas Muz, Dirty Martini and Satan’s Angel.
