Fort Progress

What was a shanty a few weeks ago is turning into a pretty good fort. My oldest son started it but needed help to reinvent it. We dismantled the first and second attempt and started over. I’m a fort builder from way back. I had them all: a grass hut in the bushes, a tree platform for swinging off of, the average shanty that was by far my favorite with it’s sloped roof and broken concrete pathway, but the most memorable was the time I decided to really expand my fort building abilities.  Read more >

I'm so glad to find this group. I have always been a vegetarian (not vegan anymore) and love to converse with others. I know you will never ask me, " you're a vegetarian, eh? Wow, what do you eat?" I look forward to contributing and learning from you all! Recently I bought these little plastic balls that have absorbant granules in them. You put them in the produce drawer to make you veggies last longer. OMG, they work and really well. My cucumbers have stayed fresh twice as long. Yea, for little inventions!  Read more >

Me, A Writer?

 If you were around me for very long, you would soon equate me to a spinning top. I am very focused but can veer off on a random trail very quickly and with as much focus. My husband calls me a whirling dervish and shakes his head often, in my direction. A longstanding relationship with someone like me would show you that we are effective, just in a very ‘around the bush and in the backdoor’ sort of way.  Read more >

Perspective & Clean Slates

I had quite a week... Four days ago, computer tragedy happened. You’ll instantly think to yourself, “you had everything backed up, right?” Well, I can say yes and NO! I have had a external hard drive all along, but only recently has it become too small. Therefore, back up errors kept flashing at me. So I made arrangements to sell my current one so I could buy a larger one. Gabrielle was formally trained as an artist with an emphasis in sculpture. As life progressed she was blessed with a wonderful husband that she works with and four children whom she home educates and shares her love of art and beauty. With the added designation of Master Gardener in 2004, her endeavors have been enriched with learning the fine art of gardening, sustainability and conservation. Her art spills into the rooms of her garden and her family shares in the fruits of their labors.
