Ugh, needles...

So, my thyroid is okay.  Very, very normal.  But my fun little endocrinologist decided that I needed to try the newest medication, Byetta.  I would be all fine and dandy with this if it was a pill.  But it's an injection.  Which means...*gasp*...needles.  He swore to me I wouldn't be able to feel it.  I told him I didn't believe him.  It doesn't exactly hurt, but I can definitely feel it.  I've been taking it for a couple of weeks, and I've gotten used to the whole poking thing.  Read more >

About Me:
I'm 27 and have recently been diagnosed with diabetes. It runs rampant in my family, so I wasn't surprised by the diagnosis. Adjusting to the changes I need to make, however, is a little shock to my happy little unhealthy routine. I'm the queen of convenience, which means I don't usually eat it if it doesn't come from a microwave or a window. This blog is about my journey to getting well and living well with diabetes, and all the little (or big) speedbumps along the way.
Profession:
Case manager for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
