Tight Rope: Life's Ups and Downs

Watching your children head off on their own into the world of adulthood is a lot like watching a high wire act. You are filled with excitement and anticipation as well as the underlying feelings of fear and doubt. Consumed by this mixture of horror and awe, holding your breath, you gaze up at them, eyes wide, as they take those first pensive steps-- establishing their grip on the tight rope, wobbling slightly, focused and intent.  Read more >

Allies, Rivals, Partners in Crime (otherwise known as Sisters)

A few weeks ago Sister's Week circulated on Facebook. I obliged by reposting the status, something I rarely participate in,  and posting a picture of my sister and I on my profile. About Me:

I’m a 40 something, married mother of four. I have been identifying myself this way for so long I can’t remember what used to be interesting about me. However, I am currently in the middle of a revolution-- "What" I am: wife, mother, student, employee, volunteer, doesn't define "who" I am.
This year, after a slight case of cancer and another medical concern, I returned to college to pursue my interest in writing and began a weekly blog. I use my blog to honestly  share my experiences and insights into life, family, and motherhood. Mostly humorous, but usually with a point, I hope that others can see themselves in my struggles oradventures  and find something helpful there.

I have been compared to Erma Bombeck and Dave Barry (not bad company!)
