What does it all mean?

Last night I dreamed I was on the set of a reality TV show.I found myself in our overfilled living room swollen to the bursting point with production staff and hangers on, when my oldest daughter (who was the star of this show) decided it was time—on national television—to inform me that she was critically worried about the length of my stick-straight arm hair. The entire room gasped. “It’s just so long,” she continued. “I’m really worried about you, Trace.”  Read more >

I still love my husband

We go on a date every week to reestablish our connection to each other. This is necessary both for our sanity and my whininess. I am still giddy about my husband and being in his presence, despite the fact that we are, you know, MARRIED.   Read more >

Me: Au naturel

I ran into an old acquaintance the other day at the grocery store. We made idle chit chat until we reached the passably polite point, and then, just as I turned and we made our goodbyes, she lobbed a conversational egg at my head and blurted: “What did you do to your hair?”  Read more >

About Me:

I'm both a biological and step mom, co-parenting a family with SEVEN kids (insert Brady Bunch joke here), five pets (insert dookie joke here) and somehow maintaining a modicum of sanity (insert Lexapro factoid here).  My husband and I had been together for several years, and  recently  tied the knot (insert noose joke here). We now have official names in our blended yumminess that we call "family." (Specifically, "step-mom" and "step-dad," as opposed to "step-mom-like-person and "him.")

Also, I like cheese.

SURPRISING FACT: I've biked from San Francisco to L.A. and would do it again. I KNOW, RITE??
