Why having a child made me even more pro-choice

When our son was born, my husband and I were in a fairly good place. We had been together for three years, were fairly OK financially, we had some relatives living close by who were willing to lend a hand with the baby. We had just weathered a spot of adversity and were in a fabulous place in our relationship, connected, loving, strong, intimate. We thought of ourselves as kind, intelligent, patient people who were well-equipped to provide a stable and loving home to a child. We felt as ready as we would ever be for a child, and we wanted very much this baby that I was carrying.  Read more >

About Me:

I am a shiny by nature and lazy by aptitude mama, squandering my youth with one man, one baby, two cats and more dust bunnies than i care to admit to in public. I like bright clothes, tranquil children and hardy plants.

As I  juggle baby-care, cat-worshipping and some erratic studying and use up the last months of my maternity leave, I try also to find time to write and read as much as possible (oh Internet, I can't quit you!) and shake my fist at the particularly dreary summer we are having this year.

I am ably assisted in my quest by my heroic husband who puts the baby to sleep every night and sustains me with papaya and martinis.

I also write stuff here: http://rainsinger.livejournal.com
