Gear Review: E-Motion 360 4.0

So for my upcoming trip to Europe, I decided to spring for some new luggage. I made a decision to get something convertible because there have been times in my last few trips where it would have been easier to strap my luggage onto my back rather than carry it. So I started looking into various brands of luggage and decided on the Victorinox 22″ E-Motion 360 4.0 Trek Pack Plus. This bag also comes in a 25″ version but I chose the 22″ with the thought that I would be taking the bag as a carry-on more often than as a checked bag.  Read more >

Consider Us "Alerted"

Well, as most of you out there know, the United States, as well as Japan, Sweden, and the U.K., have issued a “terror alert” to warn their citizens of potential terrorist activity in Europe in areas that are frequented by travelers...places like Belgium and France where I’ll be traveling in less than a month (I’ll also be going to the Netherlands, but I haven’t seen it mentioned specifically...yet). The alert itself is fairly vague and supposedly, it’s not meant to discourage travel to Europe, it’s meant for us to be more vigilant and alert while we’re there. The U.S.  Read more >

About Me:

I have tried a little bit of everything in my life!

I've had a day job in the field of Developmental Disabilities for over 25 years.  My degree is in Education but I have a sincere interest in a wide variety of things and I truly enjoy learning. I've been involved in music for as far back as I can remember and sang and played in a band for well over 10 years. I still occasionally do weddings!

I've tried my hand at other careers and one of my favorites was private investigation. I'm still fascinated by all things "spy".

I've had a lifelong interest in traveling and was fortunate enough to travel to various parts of the U.S. while growing up. In 2004, I made my dream of travel to Italy a reality and have traveled to Europe two more times since then. My ultimate dream is to one day move there and live out my days eating warm bread with freshly pressed olive oil and drinking the regional wine.

The goal I've set for myself with my blog is to encourage and help other people like me who always felt that overseas travel was financially out of their reach. My motto, though trite, is "if I can do it, you can do it" and I mean it when I say that.

I hope that somebody reads my blog and thinks to themselves that their dream of going to Europe for vacation is not that far out of reach and I want my blog to help them get there.

I welcome commentary and suggestions.
