I like to write. You like to read.
Apparently, we both like to waste spend time online…
We’re a match made in heaven.
I’m in my mid-thirties (is that middle aged? Someone rude told me that’s middle aged). For nearly sixteen years, I’ve been married to my best friend, Walt. He’s kind of like Superman: mild-mannered mortgage broker by day, crime fighting volunteer police officer at night. I’ve decided to keep him.
We have one child (yes really, only one), our ten year old daughter, nicknamed Newt. Walt and I adopted her at birth and thank God for that fact every day. Newt loves dogs and horses and dreams of becoming a veterinarian. She also loves Italian opera, BB guns and her mama’s cooking. Her middle name is not eclectic, but it should be. We’ll keep her too. (She says that’s because it’s too late to get our money back. Mildly inappropriate humor runs in our family.)
I am a former junk food addict turned into a green smoothie sippin’, raw milk drinkin’, homemade deodorant wearin’ healthy foods person. I’m becoming more crunchy by the day. (I wonder… if I’m crunchy now, was I chewy before?)
Walt still likes junk food. I still like him.
I’ve been homeschooling Newt for going-on-four years and have truly loved every bit of it. Go ahead and ask me about Greek mythology. Like everything else we do, we are eclectic in our methods, but tend to stick to the principles of Leadership Education/TJEd. (See A Thomas Jefferson Education for more information.)
Frantically Simple is where I blog about my family, real food, homeschooling, and crafts. If I’m in the mood, and you ask nicely, I might even illustrate my life with marker drawings or photos of toys. I guess I could paraphrase Forrest Gump and say, “Frantically Simple is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”
When you read that, did you do the voice? Cuz I sure did.
