Not so good

I have to say that I'm not at all surprised to hear that so many of us have to censor ourselves due to our readers. What does that say about our authenticity on our blogs? I'm not trying to be controversial; I'm simply examining what this "blogging" thing means to me and how I should be approaching it. It does sound like the majority of us are censoring ourselves. Blogs & Family readers, will they mix?

I'm curious as to whether bloggers tell their families/friends/co-workers about their blogs or not. Has anyone had issues regarding family members reading their blogs and their reactions to the content? Do you end up censoring your posts due to the possibility of having a family member (boyfriend, boss, ex-wife, etc.) read them?  Read more >

Lesson learned

Last night was tough. I can honestly say that it was terrible. We felt terrible as parents. We will not make that threat ever again since we never intended to enforce it in the first place. The good news (sort of) is that the reason for his behavior was that he was suffering the effects of a cold. After writing my post, I went in to check on him expecting him to be pouting in his bed but instead I found a mildly warm passed-out kid. He was exhausted. This is the first time

This is the first time that I've run out of ideas to get my 4 1/2 year old to listen. He's going through this "talking back" phase and it's really disruptive and disobedient. Tonight when we got home, his Dad gave him a snack to share with his brother while dinner was being made. He refused to share and was talking back so he got a time-out. While in the time-out, he got several warnings for talking back and not staying in the time-out quietly. His Dad told him the next outburst would get him to bed without dinner.
