Don't Bother Marrying the Cow when You can Get the Milk for Free

The lovely and talented Laurie White alerted me to a story last year from the CBC about Canada having more unmarried Canadians than married ones.  Read more >

Music from a Cold Climate: Canadian Ladies who can sing

I am not an audiophile, so I am writing this post for both you and me. I have spent a great deal of time scouring the interwebs looking for some new Canadian music by the ladies. Since, at BlogHer we are all about the 80’s. I like lots of different types of music, from folksy to rock me like a hurricane. The first lady I came across was “Lenore” , just the one name. She is folksy, and I like it. There are several mp3 samples on her site, which is important to me when scanning for new music. This bit from her bio was funny:  Read more >

Funny a-go-go Canuck style

This week Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize. I was thrilled, as this throws even more attention to the climate change crisis. Along with Gore, the (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) was awarded this prestigious award. Canadian John Drexhage was one of the many scientists working with the IPCC, he said he was shocked and humbled to learn the organization had won the peace prize. About Me:

I started a personal, diary type blog in 2002 after discovering many other fantastic blogs.  Having an audience for my intimate disussions and inane observations ended up being realy fulfilling, so the personal blog continues and the community of female bloggers has greatly enriched my life. I have a degree in Communications Studies and here I am, communicating! I have worked in web content, communications, and marketing. I love gardening, gossip magazines, and the craziness of online community, I can often be found on twitter even after bedtime. I also contribute on www.wecovet.com, www.alphamom.com and occasionally on www.realmental.org.  The blog that launched a couple of ships is still at www.jenandtonic.c.  jenandtoni.ca is now dead for privacy reasons, as of July 2009, but my personal blog is now at http://www.jennui.com.
