Step #2

Step 1 was just getting into using more technology.  I set up the facebook and that has been somewhat successful. Most of my students bought into the idea of adding me as a friend and they don't seem to mind my homework reminders.  I haven't had any complaints.  Twitter is still there, but no takers.  I know that Twitter is sooo last week, but I am not going to give up on the idea.  Who knows, maybe at some point someone will buy in to that one.  Read more >

Increasing my use of technology in the classroom

Ok, change of focus on my little blog here.  I have the desire to increase my use of technology in my classroom.  I want to reach my students and teach them how to learn.  I want to help them embrace the need for knowledge.  I want to help them find the tools that work for them and learn things beyond the standards that they learn in high school math.  I want to embrace the idea of "21st century learners".  I want to incorporate the things that I do outside of the classroom, because I know that they are things that my students also use outside of the classroom.  Read more >

Fast Forward 7 months....

Fast Forward from my last post. I did it. I resigned. I got the new job. It's in the school I REALLY wanted to be in.  And, for the most part... I LOVE it.  It was such a positive step and change for me.  I am in a school with a lot of veteran teachers to learn from.  I am in a school with an awesome team of Math teachers to collaborate with.  I am in a school with kids who are lazy and don't want to work...  Read more >
