Growing up in Kansas City, home of Royals baseball, I was always a hometeam fan. I have lived in many cities across this country, and as my husband and I have moved around -- from Texas to Pennsylvania, North Carolina, California and back to Kansas -- we have adopted and cheered on many NFL teams, but never another baseball team. Last year, we realized that if our ten-year-old was going to continue to play soccer, he would need the more focused, professional coaching that comes at the competitive club level as opposed to recreation leagues with parent coaches. In club leagues, you typically pay for a professional coach who teaches more than just the basic rules of the game and good sportsmanship - they teach individual skills, athletic conditioning, game strategy and team development. Welcome to Kansas

Lately, it seems companies and people are starting to recognize that business in the United States does not consist of only New York City and California. There are, in fact, many wonderful places to live in between. People are choosing to live in cities that are a little quieter, a little cheaper, and a little more family friendly, as buzzwords like “work/life balance” echo in the halls of corporate America.
