I'm a sahm of 3 (Kayla-12, Joey-9, Daniel-3), stepmother to 2 (Richard-11, Lance-7) & wife to a great husband-Rick. Originally from middle Tennessee, we moved to northwestern Minnesota in April 2008 and by Christmas hubby was out of work due to a work related back injury. Saving money has always been a passion born out of necessity. Now we're utilizing all those skills to the fullest until my husband can go back to work.

Moving to Minnesota has brought many changes and discoveries. Shortly after moving here, we discovered Joey is Autistic. For seven years we struggled with his abilities and lack of progress in school without any remedies. This discovery has truly transformed out lives. We still struggle with raising an Autistic child but finally have the support needed to make wise decisions for our son. I have discovered many new things about myself as well. I am learning to sew and garden wishing to reduce our carbon footprint on the world while saving money. I have also discovered a love of blogging. It's my creative outlet which allows me to share the important things with a world larger than what I live. I hope not only to inspire others to live a more meager lifestyle but to gain more inspiration myself.
