I'm a first time mother to a beautiful little boy. We live in the semi-country with our three cats and small dog. Hubby and I have been married since 2002 and both work in newspapers. I'm the community editor for the paper and he is the managing editor. Working together is not always pleasant, but it has its benefits too.

I enjoy journaling, photography, sketching, and of course blogging.

I got into blogging on a fluke when my brother started a spiritual blog (he now has a reading blog, an everyday blog and a humor blog. He's a bit addicted). I started my blog, Boondock Ramblings, to keep family updated. Later it became a pregnancy update, then it became a social tool and now it is where I meet new people, share my feelings, photographs, thoughts, and yes, still update my family.

I added a photo blog some time later and it is called Views Beyond the Lens. 

I have a degree in Mass Communication with an emphasis in journalism. For 10 years I was a reporter and have stepped away from that now to a much more calm desk job. I miss reporting, but even more so I miss writing for a living. My blog is my creative outlet for my writing these days, but eventually I'd like to become more involved in freelance writing.

An occupational hazard of mine is being too nosey. Once a reporter, always a reporter. I still carry a notebook with me and keep notes on my life and on interesting, touching, or funny events that occur. Often they end up in a post on my blog.

Feel free to stop by anytime. One blog post on one day does not define my entire blog. It is eclectic and ever changing.
