Things That Go Bump in the Night

Do you ever think of something, and then out of nowhere, it happens? <!--break--> I am not talking about thinking of spaghetti, and then making it for dinner later. I mean something out of your control. Lately this has been happening a lot, and it is spooking me out. ...more

Waiting For Something to Happen

I am making my own cleaning products (hello vinegar and water. And baking soda), or buying some of the Method products. I love the Seventh Generation lavender and mint dishsoap, and IT WORKS too. I especially like the eucalyptus/mint shower cleaner. I also recycling everything I possible can, reducing waste, and going grocery shopping with reusable bags. I ...more

The Tab at the Bar

Why is it that I feel guilty for doing something for myself? I have all the reasons in the world why I shouldn’t. It doesn’t help. I bought Elmo tickets for my almost two year old and I, and they were $70. I have to pay for two tickets, because gee, I would sure love to go watch Elmo. Parents should get discounts! But I don’t feel guilty about that. ...more

C is for Cookie

If you are going to make cookies, do yourself a favor and make them the real way. Don't use whole wheat flour. Don't use fake sugar or pretend butter. Use WHITE flour! It tastes so much better, which is why you want to eat those cookies in the first place. I made some this morning with whole wheat flour. I don't want to say they are awful, but they are not what I was hoping for. And that was a gooey, sweet, chewy melt in your mouth chocolate chip cookie. ...more

Feeding a Toddler Sucks!

Feeding a toddler sucks. I hate making any sort of effort to feed her, just because of the dreaded "No" or the lack of eating anything I worked so hard to think up and create. Another tried and tested kid friendly recipe from the Jooshy kitchen! Just remember, they won't starve themselves to death. They will eat when they are hungry, and ready to relinquish a bit of control. Veggie Protein Pizza one ready made pizza crust (Boboli is fine) jarred pizza sauce mozzarella cheese, shredded chopped lower sodium ham ...more
