A study published this past week indicates that increasing your levels of vitamin D may help older people stay mentally sharp.  Your body can produce vitamin D by exposing your skin to the sun as well as through the diet. The Buzz around Coffee

According to the National Coffee Association, coffee consumption in the U.S. continues to rise. Consumers are interested in different varieties of coffee and are also demanding high quality. This trend can be seen in all demographics, from college students to new agers to baby boomers. In 2008, 17% of the adult population consumed a gourmet beverage on a daily basis. Welcome to my blog. I am looking to provide practical food and nutrition information to the readers.  My background includes experience working in a hospital as a clinical dietitian.  I also have expereince working in the food industry to provide guidance and solutions for developing healthier food and beverage options.  In addition, I have provided content and have been quoted in top publications, including: the L.A. Times, WebMD, CBS Radio, and Today’s Dietitian. My educatioal background includes a Ph.D. in Food Science and Nutrition and an M.S. in Food Science.
