More on Single Mom Looking for Work

Today is Monday, October 5.  I have been looking for work for 5 months.  I had a rough weekend.  I think it was all building up to that for the last several weeks.  I always put on a game face, but inside I am falling apart.  Eventually, that has got to lead to an explosion - and it did.  I had made supper for everyone, including my fiance, on Friday.  I told him there was food here at the house, but he went ahead and ate at a restaurant.  I was fuming by the time he came in.  He got all mad at me for being angry at him.  His explanation was  Read more >

Well, I am almost at the end of another dead-end job-hunting week.  For the last two weeks, I have not done too much internet job hunting.  For no other reason, than I just didn't feel like it.  I know how lame that sounds, but when you've been at it for 4 solid months, it becomes very tedious, to say the least.  When my fiance asks me if I found anything today, I can honestly say, "no".  I kept telling myself, that this week, I would get back into it, but it just hasn't happened.  I did check out some work-at-home positions, but haven't heard anything back fro  Read more >

Feelings of an Unemployed Single Mom

Today is a new week of job hunting for me.  I graduated, in May, with my MPA, and have been job hunting ever since.  That's not what this blog is about, though.  I want to share what it's like to not be able to do fun things, or buy things for my kids, because of a lack of resources.  At first, it wasn't so bad.  I still had a decent chunk of student loan money to work from, but that has since dwindled down to very little.  Both of my kids are involved in after school activities, which cost money.  The school is asking for money for this and money for that  Read more >
