I am a self-proclaimed vegetarian…ish. I believe in supporting local farms and denouncing industrial farming…most of the time. I will always choose organic over conventional…unless I have some killer coupons. Everything about my diet screams moderation and convenience.  Read more >

Despite the oh-so-serious state of things in the engagement of Chuck & Kaity, the truth is, we really haven't been together that long. We've been dating a little over a year and we've just begun living together. Like, real living together. I Don't Want a Wedding!

Is it possible to throw a wedding that isn't...superficial?! That's what I'm trying to find out. As everyone knows I spent four months in Uganda. Not a jaw-dropping, earth-shattering, impressive amount of time. But enough for me to gain a sense of the plight of the world's poor in stark contrast to my own vast wealth and affluence. So in planning my wedding and looking at bridal gowns that cost the equivalent of my host Papa's yearly salary-I'm really struggling.  Read more >

I am a 20-something graduate candidate in the Food Studies program at Chatham University. 

I love to write about life, love, faith and food.

I began my blog in 2008 prior to a semester abroad spent in Mukono, Uganda.

I am an idealist. A vegetarian(ish). A free spirit.

I love blogging (obvi), hiking, cooking, gardening, running and most recently, crafting.
