Kari Haywood

I like to consider myself an adventurous, free spirit.  I find myself to be a creature that is constantly changing and growing...enjoying life and learning new things.  I love to travel and take every chance to see new places and experience new things. I'm also a jack of all trades, a bit of a domestic diva, and most definitely a little compulsive.  Despite all that, I'm also a magnet for all things random.  The spice of life?  Better believe it!

My day job (or jobs) include working as a healthcare billing manager, minister, and full-time college student.  My plate is most definitely full and I like it that way.  I am currently engaged to the most wonderful, intelligent, handsome man on the planet.  Want to know more?  Keep reading!

#ShareSomeLoveDay

A few years ago, I developed "Share Some Love Day".  The idea of this day was to go out into the community on February 14th and share some love with strangers.  The first year, I handed out roses to random people I came in contact with (to see the story, go here: http://www.karilife.com/2011/02/show-some-love-monday-v-day-has-arrived.html )....more

I'll Be Your Guinea Pig! Seriously!

Tonight I decided to give one of those Pinterest ideas a try.  After soaking my feet in vinegar, water, and Listerine, I thought, "I should try these ideas more often!"  One of my Facebook friends posted the idea for the foot soak and I figured it didn't sound too hard and it was worth a try.  The bowl of "solution" (2 cups warm water, 1 c. distilled vinegar, 1 c....more

Sister Wives: Could You Do It?

For the last few seasons, I've been watching "Sister Wives" on TLC.  The reality show is about a modern day polygamist family trying to make it in a monogamist world.  While I don't agree with their lifestyle, I'm incredibly intrigued by it.  The 4 sister wives are Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn Brown who are all married to Kody Brown.  Their children number into the double digits and the show reveals the chaos that exists as a result....more

Go on an empty stomach...more

According to a statement released on behalf of her family, the cause of death was apparently suicide. Gia had been dating New Orleans Pelicans basketball player Ryan Anderson. ...more

Why I'm Sure There is a God

It was a couple of weeks before my 25th birthday when my boss (and family doctor) noticed a slight abnormality in my neck.  He decided I should have a thryoid ultrasound done.  I went for my ultrasound not thinking much of it.  In fact, nothing significant ever really happened when it came to my health.  Plus, I was young!  The next day, the result of the ultrasound came back.  It said, "small cystic/solid lesion within the inferior aspect of the right lobe of the thyroid measuring 3.8 x 2.5 cm."...more

When Life Hands You a Rotten Tomato

Forget that old “When life hands you a lemon” adage!  Sometimes, life just hands you a big, rotten tomato!  At least with a lemon you can make some lemonade, add some flavor to a dish, or a pretty garnish for your iced tea.  I Googled “What to do with a rotten tomato.”  You know what I came up with?  A bunch of info about how to use the Rotten Tomatoes website (movie review website) and absolutely nothing about what to do with a literal rotten tomato.  You want to know why?  Because you can’t do anything with a rotten tomato except for make a mess!...more
