Womens Rights: Will the Real Enemy Please Stand Up

Are women our own worst enemy? Last week I was mentioned in an LA Times article as championing the importance of becoming a good wife and partner. The article didn't explain entirely what I'm about (my focus is really more on the partner aspect, than the good wife thing) but it did mention that I unite career and family and that I now stay home. That 's all it took. Bloggers everywhere began debating whether I had the right to paint staying home as a worthy choice for women. Some responders questioned my level of education, while others suggested I stayed home to spend my husband's money.  Read more >

Do Schools Promote Sexual Discrimination?

School just started and so once again we are buying school supplies, reviewing school rules, and signing enough papers to cause hand cramps. As my son laid out his school bag for the next morning, he said something that surprised me, "Do you think boys should be allowed to carry purses?" I didn't know how to respond. Was he wanting to make a fashion statement or was he just doing a little research to win an argument?  Read more >

Kathi redefines the executive wife and blows the traditional role out the water with her wingspouse concept! A Wingspouse is a partner and right-hand man to her executive mate. She is his secret weapon.
When Karen was diagnosed with breast cancer, her family knew they were entering unfamiliar territory. As chemo began, the three daughters realized this was not going to be easy and wanted to somehow help. They created a blog.
A forum for doctor’s wives to talk about what it is like to be married to a doctor, at any stage of the journey.

About Me:

Kathi is a writer, speaker, and executive coach helping improve communication through non-traditional means. She shares her skills and experience with others so they can be better leaders, spouses, writers, recruiters, entrepreneurs... she believes communication is the key to succeeding in career, in marriage, in LIFE!

Kathi is uniquely qualified for this role because of her experience as a executive wife and her abiity to recognize the value of her perspective. Kathi encourages executive spouses to assume a non-traditional role in their mates’ careers. She suggests that it’s okay to reject the old thought that two married people should have separate careers, and instead form a partnership where the couple works together and communicates better to achieve greatness! She refers to this role as the wingspouse(TM) concept.

Kathi also works with businesses to encourage wingspouse partnerships and to communicate business needs to these couples. Wingspouses are a valuable resource when invited to help in recruitment, retention, and other areas where they are willing to participate. Communicating that a company values family is part of this equation.

Kathi also provides training in social media. She believes this form of communication should not be ignored by companies. She suggests that training employees in how to use social media responsibly can prevent embarrassment and encourage healthy company image.
