Comments From My Rape in the Military Blog: Rape Stats are “Pure Propaganda.”

I'm going to be upfront before I begin this: this is going to be hard for me to write. As a young woman who went through all the typical traumas and dramas of growing up in America, I, like many women, have seen and experienced violence against women. I'll be the first one to admit that the topic of rape is an emotionally charged one, a subject that lends itself to flying off the handle, irate reactions and, sometimes, even tears. About Me: 
Kate has worked on a number of progressive issues. She started her writing career in college writing stories and drawing cartoons for an alternative magazine, where she also organized for genocide intervention and voters' rights. She considers her experience living in the Peruvian Amazon building a women's health training center the turning point in her life. Upon her return to the United States, Kate got started in the nonprofit world working on development, project management and nonprofit communications.
