When it comes to meetups, or tweetups, or anything of that nature, I may say I’m going to go, but I never do.  I’m intimidated, for one, but even more, I hate small talk.  I’m just afraid of what I don’t know.  These leads me to choose sitting on the couch and watching  Food Network over meeting new people whom I kind of already know but are not sure if their online persona will match their real life persona.  But, lured by the siren song  of booze, swag, and free WiFi, I signed up for BlogHer ’09, the meetup of all meetups.  Completely logical decision.  Read more >

Live Blogging Survivor

Hey y’all.  I’m going to live blog Survivor tonight on South City Confidential, so if you are into that kind of thing, then you should check it out.  I’ve never live-blogged anything before, but I thoroughly enjoyed several pundits live blogging of the presidential debates, and Survivor has been so great this season.  Although the major assholes have all been voted off, even more entertaining should be how the remaining  Read more >

The VP "Debate" (and I use the term loosely)

Cross-posted from my blog, South City Confidential So...the highly-anticipated VP debate.  We may never have another. Party Like It's 1998!

Which basically means we’ll listen to “Closing Time” and “Truly Madly Deeply” and “Good Riddance: Time of Your Life” over and over and over again.  It was a terrible time for music. Snap!  I have my ten-year high school reunion this weekend.  UHS!  UHS!  UHS!  Read more >

About Me:

I keep pretty busy being a writer, teacher, student, liberal, feminist, environmentalist, and all-around loudmouth.  I was born and raised in Iowa, but thought it would be smart to move to a great city (St Louis) in a former slave state.  It puzzles me often.  I spend my free time addicted to the interwebs, cooking, reading, writing, gardening, bumming around St Louis, elbow deep in homework, going to dive bars, going to rock shows, and judging people based on first impressions, then feeling either bad about it or affirmed by it.  You may not have asked for my opinion, but you're going to get it.
